Exposed single cord binding with paper cords is an original non-adhesive design which uses the expanding twists of the cords to anchor the covers into secure position.
This original non-adhesive binding with exposed straps in leather was based on a Keith Smith design.
Traditional double raised cord binding adapted for the many students who wanted a strong, flexible binding for heavier books that could be made with little or no studio equipment.
Ancient Coptic binding can be used with soft or hard covers. A beautiful binding easily adapted for single or folded sheets. This example in handmade hemp soft covers with hemp cord.
